On Friday 7th March, Nightowl and Fusion teamed up to put on one of Readings biggest line ups to date. With a line up so captivating it brought out the true lovers of the house music scene. Held in the Rivermead Complex in Reading, this rarely used venue which holds up to a 3000 people was the perfect venue for such a huge party.

We arrived early to make sure we didn’t miss out and found Route 94 on the decks. At such a young age he has certainly made a name for himself in the music scene with his new single “My Love” going straight to number 1! The venue was extremely busy for an early start, and Route 94 proved why by absolutely smashing it. Perhaps the name provides a clue? He definitely has a Chicago feel to his music. He is most certainly one to look out for.

Route 94 then passed things over to T.Williams a west London based producer with his routes stemming from jungle, drum and bass and garage, selling thousands of vinyl records on the underground circuit. Having played gigs such as Glastonbury and a multitude of events around the world, he is one of the UK’s finest.

The main man of the night, Breach, then stepped up to the decks. His name says it all, tearing up the dance floor breaking all rules and putting on one hell of a show. At this point we were back stage, but were driven right to the front as he teased and built up the music and crowd to Jack!

Finally, Hot Since 82, a man who has well and truly made his mark on Ibiza and many of the biggest events and festivals in the world, came on to play the final set of the night. Things just keep getting better for the Yorkshire lad from Barnsley, who was definitely a crowd favourite. His distinctive vibe kept all spectres of the audience engaged right through until the end of the night.

Not only were all DJs playing on top form, the venue itself was something to relay – from the moment you walked through the doors you could feel the bass from the Funktion One sound system pounding through you, sending shivers to the top of the skin. The crowd was swept away by the incredible lighting and visuals, and the vibe was so immense that you could have mistaken it for an arena at a huge festival rather than a leisure complex in Reading. The bass laden music drove you to move, whether you were right at the front in the middle of the crowd or queuing for a drink in the back room! This was a night that made Reading alive, right through to dawn.
