Ahead of their very first foray into the festival world, LWE can now reveal the line-up for Junction 2 – a collaborative project curated by three respected establishments; Drumcode, The Hydra and Closer.
Taking place on Saturday 4th June at a never before used London location, announced names for the techno-focused festival include Adam Beyer, Dixon – who will make his only London Festival appearance in 2016 – Alan Fitzpatrick, Âme, Carl Craig, Ida Engberg, Mano Le Tough, Marcel Dettmann, Move D, Mr. G, Nina Kraviz, and Scuba, with a clear message that’s focused on great sound, high-end production and astute attention to detail.
Drumcode boss Adam Beyer explains:
“I am super excited with the line up and how its come together, the Drumcode stage is really representative of where we are now musically and Carl Craig’s Live show will be a really special moment. The Hydra and closer stages compliment each other really well and offer a little contrast across the event. In my opinion it’s about as on point as you can get for a techno-based line up in 2016.”
Building on LWE’s ability to seek out interesting clubbing locations, Junction 2 will merge natural beauty, green fields, rambling rivers, woodland pathways and hidden enclaves – all dominated by striking industrial features that will make the site iconic. With the exact location to be revealed in the coming weeks, general tickets are on sale now and paves the way for another exciting year of events for LWE.
Drumcode, Adam Beyer and LWE have been partners in London for over 6 years now, starting at Great Suffolk Street Warehouse via epic parties in Factory 7, Mode and Tobacco Dock. Drumcode are at the forefront of techno around the world, having just celebrated their 20th anniversary and with Adam Beyer at the helm, the label produces hit after hit that dominate the top of the techno charts.
Joining them are The Hydra, synonymous with promoting and producing quality electronic music events in unusual spaces (from a WWII boat to a mini festival on Osea Island for Innervisions concept ‘Lost in a Moment’) alongside their obsessive affair with great sound. In 2013, they found a home at Studio Spaces where they installed a bespoke Funktion One soundsystem. They will bring a line up and ethos that will fit perfectly in Junction 2.
Closer is a party created by LWE for their more intimate shows, designed to allow artists the ability to build a deeper relationship between them and their audience. With the ethos of stripping everything back to basics, Closer is the backlash against excess and for those that are just there for the music. Earlier this year Closer hosted Dystopian & Rodhad for their debut in London.
