LWE are famed for seeking out London’s most unique party spaces. Incredible warehouses, cavernous carparks, roof tops, docks and defunct tube stations have all undergone the trademark LWE treatment. The most recent discovery is Boston Manor Park, complete with striking industrial features which make it a natural choice for LWE’s debut outdoor adventure.
Boston Manor Park immediately presents the contrasts of the capital city. All at once it is both green space and abstract architecture. On approach the site is dominated by the overhead bridge. Powerful lines stream into the distance as the bridge stretches across the park below creating a corridor of pillars. Visitors will be drawn into lush parkland and woodlands, then onward, down the length of the avenue ahead, crossing a bridge over a small moat and onto an island upon which the main stage will sit, cocooned amongst concrete and trees with water on all sides.
Contrasting with the brutalist aesthetic of the main stage and walkways, the site’s natural beauty is truly revealed when you see the location of stages two and three. Enclosed by a tree line and linked to the main stage area through a series of winding woodland paths, step down into an inviting open field where LWE will be creating two new stages and an array of beautiful bars, interesting art and a delicious food area.
Each of the stages will provide a unique and different atmosphere, all are covered so you can enjoy the music and not worry about any unreliable British weather! The festival is situated in zone 4, and 5 minutes walk from the nearest underground tube station.
About Junction 2
This summer sees the launch of Junction 2, a new festival for London. At an intriguing, new location. The message is simple – great sound, high-end production, an attention to detail, no short sets, no VIP, no plastic tents, like-minded people and a music policy focused on techno. Stages hosted by Drumcode and The Hydra alongside LWE’s brand, Closer.
Junction 2: ‘An act of joining; combining. A place or point where two or more things meet or converge.’
Drumcode, Adam Beyer and LWE have been partners in London for over 6 years now, starting at Great Suffolk Street Warehouse via epic parties in Factory 7, Mode and Tobacco Dock. Drumcode are at the forefront of techno around the world, having just celebrated their 20th anniversary and with Adam Beyer at the helm, the label produces hit after hit that dominate the top of the techno charts.
Joining them are The Hydra, synonymous with promoting and producing quality electronic music events in unusual spaces (from a WWII boat to a mini festival on Osea Island for Innervisions concept ‘Lost in a Moment’) alongside their obsessive affair with great sound. In 2013, they found a home at Studio Spaces where they installed a bespoke Funktion One soundsystem. They will bring a line up and ethos that will fit perfectly in Junction 2.
Closer is a party created by LWE for their more intimate shows, designed to allow artists the ability to build a deeper relationship between them and their audience. With the ethos of stripping everything back to basics, Closer is the backlash against excess and for those that are just there for the music. Earlier this year Closer hosted Dystopian & Rodhad for their debut in London.
